🌾 Chapter Two — The Day Is Not Yours

The morning sun spilled through the clouds like slow music, but Arun’s heart was louder than the world around him.

He had seen her — the girl whose presence made silence feel beautiful — talking and laughing with someone else.

It wasn’t much, just a simple conversation between her and his friend, but it stirred something quiet and aching inside him.

That afternoon, fate placed him in the same lift with her.

The space was small, yet his courage felt smaller.

She stood beside her friend, smiling faintly, her eyes avoiding his.

He managed to talk a little — to her friend, not her — forcing a smile he didn’t feel.

She stayed silent, as if words had left her too.

And before he could say anything more, the lift chimed softly. The doors opened.

The moment was gone.

So was his chance.

Later, as he walked home under the slow-setting sun, he replayed that scene again and again in his mind.

Her silence felt heavy, but so did his.

It wasn’t anger — it was that familiar sadness of almost speaking but not.

That night, he opened his journal and wrote:

“Sometimes the heart hurts not because someone left,

but because we never had the courage to arrive.”

He looked at those words for a long time, feeling both pain and peace.

Then, in the stillness of his room, he whispered to himself —

The day is not yours yet. But one day, someone will see you — not for how loud you speak, but for how deeply you feel.

He decided that until that day came, he would keep being kind — even when it hurt.

Because kindness, he realized, was the bridge that could heal even the loneliest hearts

🌿 If you ever feel the same…

When you see someone you like talking freely with others, and it stings quietly —

breathe. Don’t let it turn into self-doubt.

They may not see the courage it takes for you to even want to speak.

But your silence doesn’t mean you are unseen.

Turn that ache into compassion.

Help someone else smile. Write what you feel.

Every act of goodness makes your soul a little lighter, and your time a little closer.

Because love — true love, true friendship — doesn’t bloom in noise.

It blooms softly, like Arun’s kindness — waiting, patient, seen by the right heart, at the right time.

Nothing stays long as this feeling too, at the moment I had, I am representing here. Thanks for the day making myself better.

Yours Lovingly                                                                                                                                    Jaya Prakash.
